What led K'taka lokayukta issue arrest warrant against BSY?

BS Yeddyurappa
Bangalore, Oct 15: Trouble seems to deepen for scam hit tainted former chief minister of Karnataka, BS Yeddyurappa whose bail plea has been rejected by the special Lokayukta court and has an arrest warrant issued against him on Saturday, Oct 15.

Yeddyurappa is the first from BJP to make it to the Chief Minister's post from any South Indian State. Controversies glutted BSY's career after he was accused of being involved in a 40 crore land denotification scam charge for allegedly favoring his son in the allotment of a land in Bangalore, which till date is known to be the biggest land scam in Karnataka.

As if this trouble were not enough for him, HD Kumaraswamy, his acquaintance at a time who had helped him bring down the government of Dharam Singh, accused Yeddyurappa that he wanted to buy his silence over the graft issue. The god fearing Yeddyurappa openly challenged Kumaraswamy to prove the truth in front of Lord Manjunatha Swamy at Dharmasthala. Though Kumaraswamy accepted the challenge, the whole Dharmasthala show down fizzled out.

Yeddyrappa was later indicted in the Karnataka Lokayukta report for his active role in the illegal mining scam that also involved three ministers - G Janardhana Reddy, G Karunakara Reddy and B Sreeramulu who are currently lodged in jail for the same.

Not only was Yeddyurappa accused but members of his family have also been accused of having received bribes from mining companies.

Following his involvement in various charges and to save embarrassment for the party, BJP asked Yeddyurappa to step down from his post. Yeddyurappa, after much hue and cry resigned from the Chief Minister's post on Jul 31, 2011.

Famous for coming up with excuses to save himself every time, it would be worth waiting to see what magic trick would Yeddyurappa play now to save himself this time.
