PM's letter to Anna: Jan Lokpal Bill not the only priority?
In the letter available to the media, the PM said that the government was also committed on issues of electoral and land reforms besides the Lokpal Bill. He reiterated that the campaign for a strong Lokpal Bill would be successful soon. He added that the government was working on a broader agenda to root out corruption from the system and the Lokpal Bill was part of the plan.
This letter was sent across as a reply to Anna Hazare's earlier letter to the PM in Sept. [Read: The complete letter from PM to Anna Hazare]
Anna Hazare, however stood by his earlier stand and declared that if the Jan Lokpal Bill was not passed in the winter session of parliament, he would resume his protest. He said, "If Prime Minister does not bring Lokpal Bill in winter session, then I will go back to Jantar Mantar to protest."
