Wipro to focus on products for social benefits

Bangalore, Oct 11: Wipro Technologies are coming up with low cost products such as electro-cardiogram necklace, tablet computer and cameras to be used in hospitals and mining. Wipro declared health care and education as the next big business opportunities.

An Electro-Cardiogram necklace is a device which will transmit heartbeats to a remote-monitoring location. The company will manufacture its products after developing and testing it within the next 12-24 months.

Anurag Srivastava, Chief Technology Officer & Senior Vice-President, Wipro Global IT Business said that Wipro has got the opportunity to operate and manage these types of products.

Wipro can stay starting from the device innovation till the development of the applications and IT services will support the applications. Wipro will make it affordable and available for the people. Wipro has tied up with Belgium based research centre, IMEC which will cut down the manufacturing costs.
