Siwan, Oct 10: There seem to be trouble in store for RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav when an FIR was filed against him for violating the Election Commission's model code of conduct. An FIR was also registered in the name of his party candidate Parmeshwar Singh. Singh is a candidate from the Daraundha assembly seat. The violation was committed during the by-polls following the death of JD(U) MLA Jagmato Devi.

According to Siwan DM Lokesh Kumar Singh, Parmeshwar Singh had organised a public meeting at Pandeypur village on Saturday in spite of Section 144 in force in the assembly segment. Ideally, Singh should have sought permission from the SDO before embarking on a meeting.

The DM stated, "He hadn't taken any permission from the official concerned. After watching the videotape of the meeting and taking into consideration the report of the official concerned in this regard, the SDO ordered filing of an FIR against Lalu Prasad and his party candidate."
