Washington, Sept 29: Reebok International Limited will pay $25 million to its customers to settle charges by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for its claims in Reebok Easytone tv commercial that it's a toning shoe, which would reshape and tone the legs and buttocks of those who wear the shoe.

The producer of athletic shoes, apparel and accessories has also been banned from making any claims of the strengthening effects of the shoes unless it is approved scientifically.

Spokesperson of Reebok International Limited based in Canton, Massachusetts denied to comment on the issue.

The company is a subsidiary of the German sportswear company Adidas since 2005.

Meanwhile, consumers will be paid directly by Federal Trade Commission or through a court-approved class-action lawsuit.
