PM reaches Sikkim when Delhi rattles under 2G quake
Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee have been facing a tough time since a letter from the finance ministry has been unearthed in an RTI query.
Mr Mukherjee in his letter to the PM, wrote that the Chidambaram along with the then telecom minister, A Raja could have prevented the 2G spectrum scam in 2008.
The revelation of Mr Mukherjee's letter reportedly created distance in the Congress and in the UPA government. Both Mr Mukherjee and Chidambaram met Congress President Sonia Gandhi over the disputed issue. The home minister also had offered to resign following the ruckus.
However, both Mr Mukherjee and Chidambaram are expected to meet Manmohan Singh once he is back from Sikkim. Now, time will prove if the PM could rescue the "devastated" Congress party or not.
