Anna Hazare, the next President of India?

Anna Hazare
Ralegan Siddhi, Sept 29: Fresh rumours that have recently gripped Ralegan Siddhi village is that the Congress have offered the post of the President of India to Gandhian crusader Anna Hazare.

This rumour strengthened after a vernacular daily reported that some senior leaders of the Congress had held a meeting in Delhi after the stupendous response Anna garnered during his fast at Ramleela Maidan over the Jan Lokpal Bill.

Something that has added fuel to the hot and fresh rumour is the steady stream of politicians to the village, especially from the Congress Party, to meet the Gandhian. Those who paid a visit to Anna Hazare include Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat, Ahmednagar MP Bhausaheb Waghchaure and former PWD minister Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil.

But, on the other hand, the activists associated with the India against Corruption initiative and others close to Anna have rubbished the speculation, saying that he won"t accept any such offer.
