Mumbai: 600 IIT-ians sick; China behind food poisoning?
IIT authorities claimed that main reason behind food poisoning has not been clarified yet but students said that the special dinner of Sunday, Sept 25 (Which was Chinese food - fried rice, noodles, gobi Manchurian, rice, dal and an optional dish of chicken) might have caused food poisoning.
The head of students association of IIT, said, "Some of the students complained of stomach ache, fever, body ache and vomiting by Monday morning."
However, water, served in the hostels within IIT campus has been sent for test. The authorities, while trying to console the parents of the sick students, claimed, "As of now, the situation is under control."
"They do not serve Chinese regularly. Though no such major incidents have happened so far, it is a matter of concern for students. Most of my hostel mates started complaining of the symptoms by Monday night. By Tuesday morning, every student was asking each other about their health," said a student.
