Crisis in UPA; PM, Sonia to meet party leaders tomorrow

New Delhi, Sept 27: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi will meet separately party ministers and leaders on Wednesday, Sept 28 to remove the crisis over 2G spectrum allotment involving Finance Minister P. Chidambaram.

Earlier on Sept 26, Union Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram had met separately Sonia Gandhi to clarify their positions over the issue of opposition demand of resignation of home minister.

Meanwhile, for United Progressive Alliance (UPA) it may be turn out into a potential crisis.The outcome in the hearing Tuesday (Today) of a case filed by Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy against Chidambaram is also considered crucial in the controversy.

Sources said that, on Tuesday (Today) night, Law Minister Salman Khurshid and Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office V. Narayanasami called on Pranab Mukherjee to discuss the legal implications of the note.
