New Delhi, Sept 26: Indians woke up to a rude shock on Friday when a hapless toll attendant was shot dead in point blank range over the payment of the mandatory toll tax of Rs 27. The only clue that the police had on the gruesome murder was that the killers used a white Bolero SUV. Two days into the crime, the police have managed to arrest the two assailants, Vijayveer and Manjeet.

Police stated that the culprits belonged to Manesar and Shikhopur in Haryana respectively. 22-year-old Umesh Kumar Pandey was shot at the Delhi-Gurgaon toll-plaza. The assailants are believed to have been under the influence of alcohol. After questioning by the police, the duo is understood to have confessed to the crime. The police looked in to the CCTV images that showed Umesh arguing with the passengers in the SUV after they refused to pay the toll tax of Rs 27. In a fit of rage, the driver of the SUV took out his revolver and shot at Umesh. The bullet pierced through his neck killing him instantly.
