Azhar to launch campaign against superbikes

New Delhi, Sept 23: Ex-Indian cricket captain and Congress MP Mohammad Azharuddin is planning to take up a campaign against superbikes to discourage youngsters from riding it.

On Sept 11, the Suzuki ZBX 1000 superbike, gifted by Azahar, claimed the life of his younger son Ayazuddin and nephew in Hyderabad. Azhar's nephew, Azmal died on the spot after the accident while Ayazuddin passed away on Sept 16, five days later to the accident.

Sources said that Azhar will launch his campaign with the help of an NGO or a group of social activists. Interestingly, the former cricketer's family members and his relatives are constantly encouraging him to be face of the campaign which would discourage the use of superbikes.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad traffic police has already announced that any form of discouragement or a ban will be endorsed by the government to control rash driving. Now, Azahar's biggest challenge will be to convince his elder son Asaduddin to give up his Hayabusa superbike.
