IIMB girl's suicide: Boyfriend deletes Facebook account

Bangalore, Sept 22: Abhishek Dhan, boyfriend of the IIMB girl

who committed suicide following his post on Facebook, has deleted his Facebook profile, said police.

Police also revealed that both Abhishek and Malini hailed from Jamshedpur and knew each other.

Malini committed suicide after her boyfriend Abhishek posted a Facebook status that said he was breaking up with Malini and expressed his joy over it. [Read More: IIMB girl commits suicide after being dumped on Facebook]

Depressed by the status, Malini committed suicide leaving behind a note that said she took the step after her boyfriend left her and this was the best way to take revenge on him.

Meanwhile, the girl's father has lodged a complaint with the Mico layout police in Bangalore. Abhishek Dhan, who has been charged with abatement of suicide under section 306 of IPC, if proven guilty will be jailed for seven years, said reports. Malini's dead body has been taken to her hometown Jamshedpur on Sept 21 and has been cremated at Parvati Ghat. [Read more: FB effect: IIMB girl kills self for boyfriend, body taken home]

The case is being probed and looked in from all angles to ascertain the reason of her death.

Malini had come to Bangalore 6 months ago to pursue higher studies. It is also claimed that she fell in love with Abhishek few months ago.
