Govt to frame more rights legislations: Chidambaram
"We have framed Right to Education and Right to Information. Now we are in the process of enacting Right to Food, Right to Grievance Redressal and Right to corruption-free administration," he said at Bharat Chamber of Commerce here.
Rights-based approach is a more humane way to govern a pluralistic society. However, the bottom line of the entire approach is to have to high GDP growth.
"Other countries can afford to grow at two per cent rate. But India cannot afford to grow at less than eight per cent," he added.
