Casualties mounting in N India earthquake; 18 dead till now
The authorities believe that the casualties could rise. Emergency teams have been dispatched to the region consisting of doctors and engineers. 200 National Disaster Relief Force have reached Bagdogra to help with the rescue efforts.
The deadly quake that struck Mangan in Sikkim have caused massive damages. The tremors were felt in parts of West Bengal, Delhi, Bihar, Orissa, North East and Nepal.
Continuous rain, power disruptions and mobile connectivity issues are hampering rescue operations. The rains are also causing landslides cutting off roads completely.
