Hyderabad, Sept 14: With the health of Ayazuddin, son of former Indian skipper and Moradabad MP Mohammed Azharuddin still critical, doctors in the Apollo super speciality hospital are trying their best for his survival. Tuesday Sep 13, saw doctors compelled to remove Ayaz's left kidney which was medically required for his survival.

Both Ayazuddin and his cousin Ajmal were involved in a deadly bike accident that killed Ajmal on the spot and Ayaz battling for his life. The accident occurred near the Outer Ring Road in Puppalguda.

The doctors performed a nephrectomy (removal of kidney) on Ayazuddin with his health condition remaining critical. The CEO of Apollo Hospitals, Dr Hari Prasad stated that Ayaz continues to be unconscious and his neurologic status is still worth serious concern. He is being monitored by a multi-speciality team 24x7.

The doctor commented, “We have to monitor him hourly and keep a close watch on him. He was bleeding continuously from the injury to his left kidney and left nephrectomy was performed on Tuesday morning. His vital parameters are being maintained with supports and he continues to be on ventilator. His status remains critical."

The fact that there was an obstruction of vital blood and oxygen to Ayazuddin's brain is also a cause for concern for the doctors. The delay in hospitalisation could be the cause of the same. There are fears of brain damage due to anoxia because of the delay.

Ayazuddin is the second of the two sons from Azharuddin's marriage to Naureen. Azhar and Naureen are divorced. Naureen is stationed in the hospital after she flew back to Hyderabad from Saudi Arabia. Azhar is however juggling between his sisters' house and the hospital. Ajmal, who died in the mishap, is Azhar's sister's son.
