It has been reported that Amit was in a live-in relationship with Anjali and she committed suicide after being dejected by Amit who allegedly gave false marriage assurance to Anjali.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Rajesh Chandel said, "Amit was arrested under section 306 of the IPC (abetment to suicide) in connection with the suicide committed by Anjali at his residence here on September 11."
