Ramya on Monday, Sept 12 filed her papers from Shantinagar block. If she wins, she will become a delegate member and will be eligible to contest for the post of state Youth Congress president.
Ramya, talking to media said, "Yes. I am standing for the booth-level elections that will be held on September 16. I have been nominated for the Shanthinagar area. As part of the Youth Congress, I am looking at making use of this platform to serve the people and make a difference to society. I would like to do all that I possibly can to bring forth issues and concerns of the people in the area and bring about positive change."
Explaining the reason behind choosing Shantinagar, she said, “I live on Convent Road, so it was logical to contest from the concerned block (Shantinagar)."
"She can contest for State Youth Congress president's post after she gets elected at the booth level and it should not be an uphill task for her to emerge victorious considering the tremendous goodwill she enjoys among the Youth Congress members," feels BR Naidu, another former Youth Congress general secretary, who is now overseeing the poll preparations.
