Anna fever rocks Telangana protest; Indefinite fast resumed

Protest for Telangana
Hyderabad, Sept 13: It seems that pro-Telangana protesters have taken inspiration from Gandhian Anna Hazare as they resumed their indefinite fast in several parts of Andhra Pradesh on Sept 13.

Supporters, demanding a separate Telangana state, along with other government employees, commenced their hunger strike with rallies, road blockades and sit-ins creating more pressure on the state as well as on the central government to fulfill their demand.

A leader of Telangana employees union, K Vithal stated, "The employees will not cooperate with the government. The state ministers from Telangana region should also participate in the strike by the people."

Sources also informed that students associations and lawyers have also joined the hunger strike in places like Warangal.

Here it can be recalled that the path of "indefinite fast" recently received attention world-wide with Anna Hazare. The Gandhian had resumed his fast-protest for Jan Lokpal Bill and partially won the battle with the government for an anti-corruption bill.
