Tollywood actor Balakrishna set to fight 2014 elections
Speaking on the occasion of the Cine Stars charity cricket match in Anantpur, he revealed his hopes in the world of politics and said, "I have not decided yet from which constituency I will be contesting as there is still time, but I have decided to contest the elections and want, to play a key role in TD politics."
He had showed his inclination to enter politics back in 2009, but was advised by Chandrababu Naidu to refrain by entering active politics then and involve in election campaigning. He, however stated that he did not hope to become CM one day and follow the footsteps of his father NT Rama Rao.
He added, "I am not interested in the CM"s chair, I am keen to play a key role in party affairs." He was still undecided on which constituency he will contest from. His father and brother had both contested from Hindupur in Anantapur districts. Payyavula Kesav, MLA from Uravakonda and Kalva Srinivasulu, party politburo member from Telugu Desam welcomed the decision.
Kesav commented, "Balakrishna has said he will be actively involved in party affairs and this will definitely boost TD politics. I welcome him and offer him my Uravakonda seat to contest the next election."
