On Wednesday, Sept 5, after the blast outside Delhi HC, an email was sent by Harkat-ul-Jihadi (HuJI) claimed the responsibility of the blast. Again on Thursday, Sept 8, another email was received by NIA stated that the blast was carrried out by Indian Mujahideen (IM).

The second email sent from "" was received at 12:37 PM on Thursday, Sept 8, claiming that Harkat-ul-Jihadi-al-Islami (HuJI) had no role in the Delhi blast and it was done by Indian Mujahideen. The email also claimed that they had selected Wednesday for the blast as it was a busy day for the HC as Delhi HC hears pleas on Wednesdays.

In the same email the sender also warned of another blast outside a shopping mall in Delhi on Tuesday, Sept 8.For which Delhi government deployed police personals in all parts of the Delhi.

"Even if the text of email and the manner it was sent do not match the typical Indian Mujahideen style, investigators are not taking it lightly. It may be a prank or red herring. But, we are trying to verify its authenticity as part of our probe to look into different angles," said an official of NIA.The email was written in Hindi and using Roman script. Earlier the IM email was scripted in good English added by official.
