After blast, now Delhi rain kills a minor girl

New Delhi, Sep 9: After the High Court Blast rocked Delhi on Wednesday, Sep 7, heavy rains lashed the capital city on Friday morning, Sep 9. The heavy showers hit the boundary wall of a hospital that collapsed and killed a girl.

The heavy showers led to the death of a minor girl when a boundary wall of an MCD hospital in Gautam Colony of Narela collapsed at around 7:30 am. In a similar case, an 18-year-old girl, Sanjana, of Class 12 died when a compound wall collapsed. This incident occurred few months back.

The rain caused heavy traffic jam across the city. It resulted in usual problems of water logging and subsequent slowing off traffic on the city roads. Traffic was affected due to water logging at Rail Bhavan near Parliament, Rafi Marg, Vikas Marg, Africa Avenue, GGR-PDR Road, Adhchini, Mayapuri chowk, Naraina road, IP flyover, Kalindi Kunj, Malviya Nagar and Yusuf Sarai.

The MeT Department said that the rain gauges measured 36.6 mm of showers between 4 am to 8:30 am. The minimum temperature was recorded at 25.1 degree Celsius, normal for this time of the year, as against yesterday's 26.1 degrees.
