It has also been reported that HuJI had sent an email to a media house citing that this blast in the High Court was in retaliation to the death sentence pronounced on Afzal Guru, who has been convicted in the Parliament Attack case.
The mail reads, "We owe the responsibility of todays blasts at high court delhi..... our demand is that Afzal Guru's death sentence should be repealed immediately else we would target major high courts & THE SUPREME COURT OF INDIA." The mail was sent from the mail ID firstname.lastname@example.org.
The NIA Chief who is investigating the matter said, "We are seriously looking into the claim of Harkat-ul- Jehadi which took responsibility for the blast." A 20 member team is looking into the investigations headed by the NIA DG SC Sinha.
With the Parliament attack case and Afzal Guru's fate playing a sinister part in the Delhi High Court blast on Sept 7, the Jammu and Kashmir government is all set to pass a resolution seeking pardon for Guru. The ruling National Conference and the opposition PDP have pledged their support to the cause. With a crisis like situation emerging in the valley as a result of this, only today the BJP claimed that they would kickstart an agitation if Guru was pardoned.
