Ganesh festival turns grim; 3-yr-old raped, killed by teen

Mumbai, Sep 5: In a recent apathetic incident on Sunday, Sep 4, a three-year-old minor girl was abducted, raped and murdered by a teenager at suburban Goregoan in Mumbai.

The police officials said that the victim, along with her five-year-old sister, was watching the Ganesh immersion festivities from near her building on Sunday evening when the accused Babloo Gupta (18), kidnapped the girl and took her to a nearby secluded spot where he raped her.

When the victim's family realised that she was missing, they approached two constables, who were in the vicinity. When all started searching for her frantically, a passerby man informed that he had heard the cries of a girl from a nearby parking stand.

When the two policemen reached the place, they saw Gupta walking from there with blood stains on his body and they began questioning him.

Police later found the victim lying below a truck with injuries to her head and private parts. The girl was taken to a local hospital but she succumbed to her injuries.

Gupta has been arrested and sent to a children's remand home earlier. The police found that he had a past criminal record.
