Gujarat macabre murder: Apathetic goons stabs man 70 times

Ahmedabad, Sep 4: One of the most gruesome and merciless murders took place on Friday Sep 2 night, when a land broker was stabbed atleast 70 times by some apathetic goons over personal enmity.

Yafizuddin Sheikh, 36, a resident of Juhapura, was killed on a busy street in the Khokhra Balbhavan area of Amraiwadi in full view of commuters at around 11 pm. The Anand police arrested four out of eight murderers on Saturday, Sep 3.

The four held from Anand include Vaghela, Naresh Thakore, Rahul alias Chako, Suresh Thakore and Rakesh Bihola. They confessed to the murder when questioned by the local police.

According to the complaints by victim's friend Rafiq Sheikh, Yafizuddin and he were going to Khokhra for some personal work on Friday night when they met another friend Haresh. Yafizuddin got down from the car and started talking to Haresh a little away from the car. Just then another car arrived and knocked Yafizuddin down. Before he could get up, another four men arrived on two motorcycles.

From the car, notorious bootlegger of the area Dadu Vaghela and three other men got down. All the men had sharp weapons and broken glass bottles in the hands and started repeatedly stabbing Yafizuddin. There was not a single part on his body where he was not stabbed. As if this was not enough, the assailants then drove their car over the victim twice. Sheikh bled to death from 70 stab wounds.
