Bangalore, Sep 4: Ex-Health Minister B Sreeramulu, resigns from his MLA post on Sunday, Sep 4. Sreeramulu, who was the close aide of Reddy submits his resignation letter to Karnataka Assembly Speaker. But, he also confirms that he would stay in BJP as long as Sadananda Gowda is the Chief Minister of the state.

Sreeramulu is a mining baron, whose name has been indicted in the illegal mining report prepared by Justice Santosh Hegde.

The BJP leader announced his resignation at a press conference in Bangalore on Sep 4. I was hurt by the way I was treated after the illegal mining report," Sreeramulu said.

Rumours also milled that Sreeramulu was contemplating to float a regional party, but sources close to him refused to confirm it. On Friday, Sreeramulu had dropped a hint that he would spell out his future political moves in a couple of days.

Apart from Sreeramulu, Janardhana Reddy and his brother G Karunakara Reddy were upset after the BJP high command did not favour their inclusion in the ministry led by chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda, in the wake of a Lokayukta report indicting them in illegal mining.
