Maha Govt dumps plan, Sachin won't become state ambassador

Sachin Tendulkar
Mumbai, Sep 3: Maharashtra Tourism Minister, Chhagan Bhujbal declared on Friday, Sep 2 that the State government have dropped the plan to rope the Cricket star Sachin Tendulkar as the State's brand ambassador.

Few months back, the Maharashtra Tourism Department Corporation had sent a letter to Tendulkar asking him to be the brand ambassador of the state. But, the 38-year-old cricket legend did not respond to the letter.

"The issue has closed now, it is impossible. We (government) also thought that we shouldn't insist him (Sachin) much. He belongs to the whole country," Bhujbal said.
