Anna Hazare disappoints Ralegan Siddhi villagers
Sources said that Anna reached his village on Thursday after 13 days of his indefinite hunger-strike for a strong Lokpal Bill. According to Suresh Pathare, Anna's personal secretary, the Gandhian was extremely fatigued.
"Although his vital signs are stable, the 12 days of fasting has taken its toll on Anna and left him very weak. He has spell s of giddiness and so he has decided to rest in his room," said Pathare.
He was given a warm welcome by the villagers when he reached the village. After he paid his respects at the Yadavbaba temple, the septuagenarian retired to his room in the Padmavati temple.
Villagers also were disappointed after a dalit conducted pran-prathistha of the village's Ganesh on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi.
"We wanted our children to see Anna, but I guess our luck ran out," said Anju Sanghavi, a resident from Pune who travelled all the way to Anna's village.
