Srinagar, Sep 1: One Indian Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) and three Pakistani soldiers have been killed when a Pakistan army violated the ceasefire once again on Thursday, Sep 1 in Keran sector in north Kashmir.

The Pakistani troops allegedly violated the ceasefire when Indian jawans successfully foiled an infiltration bid after exchanging fire with militants.

Stating about the incident, Defence spokesman Lt Colonel JS Brar informed, "There were two ceasefire violations in Keran sector of Kupwara district from across the Line of Control since 2000 hours Wednesday."

The deceased (JCO) has been identified as Naib Subedar Gurdayal Singh. Recently, another ceasefire violation from the Pakistani side was recorded on the eve of Eid.

Many sources claimed that ceasefire violations from Pakistani side were apparently aimed at giving cover to militants trying to infiltrate into Kashmir ahead of snowfall which will close all passes along the rugged terrain of LoC.
