Team Anna member Akhil Gogoi, who refuted Agivesh's arguments that the tape showed him in conversation with a "Kapilji" was a "cut and paste" job, asserted that "The tape is authentic".
Agnivesh in his defence, had said that the man on the phone line was Haridwar based Kapil Maharaj. Kapil Maharaj, however, denied that he ever had a conversation with the Swami.
Agnivesh in the video called Team Anna "mad as an elephant" and said "embarrassment at the fact that they are unrelenting when the government has conceded so much".
Agnivesh remained unavailable for his comment and his phone was switched off through out the day.
"In the core committee, we decided that we will ask him about the CD. If he has said that it is a cut and paste job and if he suspects that it is not him, then investigation is necessary. After all, it is his reputation," said former IPS officer Kiran Bedi.
Meanwhile, a close aide of Swami said that Agnivesh would lodge an FIR on the case and added, "Then he will give a sample. I cannot believe Akhil Gogoi's certificate for the forged tape or the reports that Kapil Maharaj has denied having the conversation." He also launched an attack on Team Anna saying, "The core committee meetings were an eyewash because only two people were deciding everything. You know who they were."
"I am quite surprised and shocked," commented key Anna aide Arvind Kejriwal on the controversy.
