Director General of Police, Aditya Arya, ordered immediate suspension and arrest of Vishwavijay Digambar Parab, attached to Mapusa police station, yesterday.
This followed the complaint by a 21-year-old girl. On August 11, the girl escaped from clutches of the prostitution racketeers, and went to Mapusa police station.
But two police constables there took her out in a jeep, and one of them Parab forced her to perform oral sex, she stated.
Later she was brought back to the police station, tortured, and kept in illegal detention for several hours at another police station in North Goa, she alleged.
Police spokesman John Aguiyar said today that the constable was found to have misbehaved with the girl.
He has been booked under various sections of IPC, including sections 377 (unnatural offences).
Officials who questioned the girl said that she had been promised a job at a casino and brought to Goa from Mumbai.
After coming here she was forced into prostitution. The racketeers were being arrested, police said. The kingpin, a woman from Mumbai, was arrested last night, they added.
