The possibilities of them being sidelined could be because of their stand on the Jan Lokpal Bill. Team Anna was instead represented by Medha Patkar, Prashant Bhusan and Baiyuji Maharaj, an Indore based spiritual leader.
Kiran Bedi and kejriwal have been heavily criticised in past few days and there were also claims that they were creating hurdles in the talks between government and the Anna.
Meanwhile, the talks between Team Anna and the government were described as “positive" after a meeting on Aug 26.
"I informed them about the decisions taken by the government and the party and on which there will be a discussion (in Parliament tomorrow). We have to make efforts that a consensus is built in the direction shown by what the Prime Minister had said," said Salman Khurshid after the meeting.
Khurshid further said that after the talks the government had made no commitment at the meeting, but he said that talks will take in the Parliament and there would be efforts to develop unanimity.
Meanwhile, Patkar after the talks with the government said, "We hope there is a consensus on the three key issues. We want unity in Parliament whether the debate takes place under Rule 184(that entails voting) or Rule 193."
"We want the UPA to take the initiative and move a resolution. Nothing less than that. And we want the opposition to kindly cooperate and show that they are deshbhaktas and nothing less than that," she said.
She further said that there were no "new talks and no new decisions" after the Friday's meeting.
"There is no holding of Parliament to ransom or any such thing," she added further.
Bayuuji Maharaj said, "positive and cordial and I'm hopeful tomorrow we'll hear some good news."
