Sri Lanka Consul office opens in Bangalore

Bangalore, Aug 26: Propelling the bilateral relationship between India and Sri Lanka, the Lankan High Commissioner to India, Prasad Kariyawasam claimed that maximum effort would be made to bring a high power business environment between the two nations.

Inaugurating the office of the consul in Bangalore, he also added that the consul would work to bring the two countries' businessmen and traders together.

It was with the intention to have a close relation between Bangalore and Sri Lanka in the field of business, trade and commerce, they had decided to open the office in the city, as added by Kariyawasam.

"There is no terrorism in Sri Lanka and our growth is going to be exponential. In this context, we have people from Karnataka to take part (in the process of building business partnerships) and we think it is a win-win situation." he further said.

The commission of appointment of consul for Sri Lanka would be formally handed over to K Sudhakar tomorrow at a formal function in the city.
