Bihar: Cops rape girl in custody
The incident took place in Saran district after the teenager was arrested on charges of murdering her 15-year-old lover.
The chief of the police station, Kapurnath Sharma has been suspended for willfully neglecting his duty as it is unlawful to keep a woman in police custody without female constables, said Sunil Kumar, Deputy Inspector General.
A medical test of the girl has confirmed the rape. According to the girl, she was brought from Chhapra district jail to Majhi police station on Aug 18 for further investigations into the murder case.
The girl was arrested on Aug 14 following the compliant of the deceased boy's father.
