Team Anna's varying views on Hazare's health raise concerns
Concern was raised when Kiran Bedi was quoted as saying to the crowd gathered at the Ramlila Grounds, "Anna's blood pressure is okay but his kidney has been infected." Arvind Kejriwal, on the other hand rubbished the so-called rumour and stated to reporters that Hazare was fine and that he had gone to sleep. He added, "There is no infection in his kidney."
On his eighth day of fast, Anna Hazare cannot be called healthy. Having lost 5 kgs, his blood pressure stands at 130/90 and his heart rate is slightly high at 90. The fact that he did not address the mammoth crowd gathered at the grounds have also raised the alarm bells. During the initial days of the fast, he would spiritedly address the gathering twice a day.
A couple of days back, Manish Sisodia, a close Anna aide commented, "Hazare has lost five kilograms in the past seven days. His weight has come down to 67 from 72 kg. His blood pressure is 130/80 and pulse rate 90. Doctors say his health is okay but we are worried." On this Kejriwal said that Hazare's ketone level in his blood and urine has risen slightly.
In spite of a team of government doctors and another team from the Medanta Hospital keeping a close watch of Anna's health, it is only a matter of time before he might be needed to shift to hospital. The Delhi Police are keeping a close watch and taking timely inputs from the government doctors. They might have to forcibly move him to hospital if matters get worse in regards to his health.
