Many on the grounds have complained of fever and dehydration, said volunteers at the Ramlila Maidan.
"Every third person is complaining of high fever and weakness. Some people have even fainted. The rain has also spoilt the preparations. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) should take some necessary steps regarding this," said a volunteer appointed at the medical camp, Ramlila Grounds.
"I was very thirsty and so I headed for water tanker after which I threw up. Since then I am not feeling well. I lay down at the back of the ground under the tents," said an Anna supporter, Rakesh Kumar.
"It is being ensured that anti-mosquito spray is intensified, the garbage generated is lifted from time to time. 20 truck loads of garbage and soft earth have been spread to level the ground. I have directed the officers to see that arrangements with regard to fogging, lifting and transportation of waste are made as per requirement. In case it rains, the water should be immediately drained out and the ground be made dry," said Delhi Mayor Rajni Abbi.
The Mayor also assured that all efforts to keep Ramlila Maidan in good condition will be ensured, keeping in mind the health, sanitation and convenience.
