The announcement was made by key member of Team Anna, Arvind Kejriwal. He said, "Anna will leave Tihar at around 11 am. Anna will go to Rajghat first and then proceed to Ramlila."
With the crowd swelling outside the Tihar jail awaiting Anna's release, the campaign has spread like wildfire across various parts of the country. He is fasting even when he is inside jail.
With the government and Team Anna almost set for a face off, a possible showdown was avoided when the govt had to bend backwards to agree to most of Anna's demands and had to concede to his demand. The agreement was finally made that Anna could fast for 15 days at the Ramlila Maidan but on certain conditions.
But members within the Anna Hazare camp confirmed that the 75-year-old Gandhian did not intend to go on a fast unto death but will only go on a hunger strike subject to his health conditions that are continuously being examined.
Meanwhile, the crowds are abuzz with activities gearing up to welcome Anna Hazare, who is now being referred to as the 'Gandhiji' of modern times. Parallel campaigns are being organised in other parts of the country by district heads of the India Against Corruption Campaign.
