Bhopal, Aug 17: In a further setback to Gandhian Anna Hazare's anti-corruption campaign, a new law suit has been slapped on the social crusader. An application has been filed at the Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Bhopal seeking to register a case against Hazare along with nine others for insulting the national flag. They apparently unfurled the tricolour at night.

The case was filed before the Chief Judicial Magistrate RG Singh in Bhopal with the complainant claiming that Anna Hazare unfurled the national flag at night in a TV programme recently.

The case was filed by Prakash Thakur through his advocate Raj Kumar Pandey. The case will be up for hearing on Aug 25. The case also states that Anna along with nine others including Arvind Kejriwal, Kailash Kher and Adnan Sami had insulted the flag.

Thakur said in his complaint that unfurling the flag at night was considered a serious crime that can lead to punishment including a sentence and a fine. He stated that unfurling the tricolour within the confines of a room and that too during the night both amounted to crimes since it was a violation of the Flag code. The law states that the unfurling of the flag should always be between sunrise and sunset irrespective of weather conditions.
