Anna Hazare
New Delhi, Aug 16: After the dramatic turn of events, the Union government seems to be taking an adamant stand. Government sources have been quoted as saying, "Parliament is supreme and the law will take its own course." It has also been reported that the Delhi Police will send its report on Anna Hazare's detention to the Home Ministry. They had claimed that Anna had defied prohibitory orders.

The Home Secretary RK Sindh stated that Anna was detained for defying orders. The Ministry of Home Affairs have sought a report from the Delhi Police on the detention.

Meanwhile, the BJP and the Left have upped the ante against the government attitude. There has been anger among the masses with many calling it a violation of fundamental rights to protest and a curb on citizens freedom.

Anna Hazare was detained under preventive custody along with Arvind Kejriwal, Kiran Bedi and Manish Sisodia. Hazare was detained and taken to an undisclosed location by the Delhi Police after they were apparently instructed to do so. Anna was taken in while on his way to JP Park which was the proposed venue of the fast.
