Anna Hazare
New Delhi, Aug 16: In the greatest test of democracy in the country, Anna Hazare was detained by the Delhi police citing prohibitory orders at JPN park and its premises. But Team Anna seem to have made enough fire fighting efforts probably expecting this turn of events. Ready with legal recourse, Team Anna is believed to have made a law suit ready intended to be filed in the Supreme Court.

The suit will mention that their fundamental issues of “freedom" and the right to peaceful struggle have been compromised with the detainment of Hazare and others like Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi. On the belief that the 'right to protest" is a fundamental guarantee under the Constitution, the team says that the draft of the writ petition will be moved before the apex court.

A source knowledgeable of Anna's legal move has been quoted as saying, "We will seek the apex court"s intervention soon after Anna and his supporters are restrained by the police from observing fast for a strong Lokpal law. If the government muzzles the basic rights, another organ of the state — the judiciary — is strong enough to undo an illegal state action." He refused to divulge further details and stated that any effort to curb the right to equality, liberty or speech and expression (fast) is unconstitutional.
