New Delhi, Aug 16: The main opposition party - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which never expressed its support for Anna Hazare and his struggle for Lokpal Bill publicly, seems to have started its political game over Anna's detention.

Soon after Hazare's detention ahead of his fast-unto-death protest for a strong Lokpal Bill on Tuesday, Aug 16, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi stated, "Our senior party leaders are discussing this issue (Anna's detention). We will do something in a couple of hours from now."

The BJP likely to move for an adjournment motion in the Parliament as Naqvi informed. Criticising the "insecure" government as "authoritarian", the BJP leader also said that the party will support Anna and the rest of the country protesting against corruption.

"The state is unfortunate. This is a stubbornness of government, this movement will become too difficult to handle," claimed Naqvi.

Anna along with Arvind Kejriwal, Kiran Bedi and other supporters were detained from his Delhi residence at 7:25 am on Tuesday. Delhi government imposed section 144 at several parts of the national capital including Raj Ghat and Jay Prakash Narain Park which was the scheduled venue for Anna's fast.

Calling the current situation "emergency like condition", Kiran Bedi chided that Anna's supporters will continue the protest initiated by Anna. Team Anna led by lawyer Prashant Bhushan will move the court soon.
