SC panel to evaluate Padmanabha Swamy wealth despite warning
The panel, headed by CV Ananda, vice-chancellor, National Museums framed a routine to scientifically assess the wealth.
The Royal family of Travancore conducted a devaprasanam before the panel could begin its work. During the devaprasanam the priests revealed that the deity of the temple was against the assessment of the temple wealth as well as opening of other secret vaults and warned of dire aftermaths if the vault was opened. According to reports the panel would go forward with its job of assessing the wealth. The panel have been directed to evaluate wealth based on historical value, those necessary for rituals and those that do not belong to either category.
The Royal family after the findings of the devaprasanam have decided to present themselves before the Supreme Court.
