Ironic: BJP speaks against scams, Gadkari praises Reddy bros

Nitin Gadkari
Bellary, Aug 13: Ironic as it may sound, but Nitin Gadkari, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party who has been gunning after the UPA on corruption has praised the Reddy Brother's for their role in bringing his party to power in Karnataka.

The Reddy brothers are the ones along with former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa who have been indicted by the Karnataka Lokayukta for their roles in the Minig scam.

In an apparent attempt to console the Reddy brothers who have been kept out of power in Karnataka, Gadkari said, that any Chief Minister, minister or MP can become ex-CM, ex-minister, ex-MP, but a party worker can never become an ex-party worker. Reddys and Sreeramulu are staunch BJP workers. It was Yeddyurappa"s decade-long struggle and Reddys' hold that brought the party to power in the state.

The BJP president who performed bhumi puja for laying a ring road, connecting Hospet road to the airport and inaugurated Vishnuvardhan park, praised the Reddy Brothers for the development of roads in the city and for introducing new health schemes in Karnataka.

He said, “An ordinary worker can rise to high posts in our party. Ours is a democratic party and not a mother and son party."

And added, “When they invited me for the mass marriage, they were ministers, now they are not in power and had doubts over my coming. But it is worth participating in the programme."

The Reddy brothers thanked Gadkari for honouring their invitation and protecting their prestige.
