Anonymous hackers plan attack; Facebook to die on Nov 5?

California, Aug 11: The notorious hacker group 'Anonymous' announced its "Operation Facebook" to "destroy" the world's largest social networking site Facebook on Nov 5, 2011. [UPDATE: Anonymous loves Facebook!!]

Anonymous, which is allegedly behind the attack on corporates and government websites round the globe, announced in a press release that they will destroy Facebook for selling information to government agencies and giving clandestine access to information security firms so that they can spy on people from all around the world.

Anonymous, which represents themselves as "hactivists", recently teamed-up with the infamous hacker group Lulz Security to conduct more attack on government and bank websites, an operation called Antisec.

"Your medium of communication you all so dearly adore will be destroyed. If you are a willing hacktivist or a guy who just wants to protect the freedom of information then join the cause and kill facebook for the sake of your own privacy," the hacker group said in the press release.

"Everything you do on Facebook stays on Facebook regardless of your "privacy" settings, and deleting your account is impossible, even if you "delete" your account, all your personal info stays on Facebook and can be recovered at any time. Changing the privacy settings to make your Facebook account more "private" is also a delusion. Facebook knows more about you than your family."

"Think for a while and prepare for a day that will go down in history. November 5 2011, #opfacebook . Engaged."

Security experts opinionated that Facebook has to take extra precautionary measures to keep it away from cyber attack as the world have witnessed hackers' ability in previous attacks. Moreover, Facebook's vulnerability to attack has been revealed many times.
