B'lore bus driver returns gold worth Rs 1 crore

Bangalore, Aug 9: In this season of trembling market price, shares and Sensex, a bus driver in Bangalore showed that humanity still prevail in this corruption hit society. Along with the transport company, the bus driver returned stolen gold worth Rs 1 crore.

After travelling between Bangalore and Mumbai, the driver, Basavaraju found a bag in a luggage carrier full of gold ornaments. After informing the transport authorities, the driver reached the police station and informed the cops about the gold.

After initiating a probe, police found that the booty was stolen from Jayanagar's Abhushan Jewelleries. Sohan Lal Khatri, a salesman from Rajasthan allegedly loot the ornaments from the shop on Aug 5.

Police officials claimed, "Fearing that he would be caught red-handed, he might have abandoned the baggage in the bus and escaped. After the passengers got off at the last stop, Basavaraju found Khatri's bag and conveyed the information." The cops, however, continue its massive manhunt for Khatri.
