WB govt seeks status report from JSW Bengal
"The government will not allow any land, allocated for setting up industry, to remain unutilised for long. The JSW Bengal authority has been called for a meeting on August 5 to ascertain the present status of its project," Industry Minister Partha Chatterjee told reporters here.
He also wanted to know how the JSW Bengal's project would fulfil the expectations of the people in the state.
The ambitious 10 million tonne per annum capacity mega steel project is scheduled to come on over nearly 5000 acre.
The company has acquired 4314 acre and 138 acre has been handed over for the purpose of social forestry.
At the initial stage, the JSW Bengal was to begin with production of three million tonne per annum. The project included mineral ore linkage and a power plant.
