Chennai, Aug 4: DMK chief M Karunanidhi today (Aug 4) said the AIADMK government's budget presented in the assembly was "a mere compilation of all departmental notes to the government" and lacked any schemes or objectives.

The DMK patriarch also noted there was no mention of Uniform System of School Education (Samacheer Kalvi) which was an "important problem faced by students."

"While Jayalalithaa has criticised the DMK government on the outstanding debt senario, today's budget only projects it (debt) will only be growing at the end of 2012-12," he said and sarcastically wanted to know if this was the ''achievement'' she has made in three months.

Though there was a small paragraph on development of Tamil language, there was no mention of shifting of Central Institute for Classical Tamil "that happened overnight", he said.

"Though the Governor said the budget would be announced today, most of the schemes had been announced by the government earlier. This itself shows the government was not much interested in this budget," he said.

He also noted there was no mention of the controversial MullaiPeriyar dam issue in the budget.
