Lions Clubs sets up free Cancer Detection Centre
Madurai, Aug 2: The Lions Clubs International has set up a free Cancer Detection and Prevention Centre in the city. Set up as a public service project with the technical support of Adyar Cancer Institute, Chennai, the Centre would be of great use as it would help early detection of the disease, a statement said.
After initial screening and detection of cancer cases, the patients would be referred to hospitals for treatment, it said.
Lions Clubs International had provided the required cancer screening equipments, for which Rs three lakh had been contributed by Lions District Club, it added.
