Pakistan promises full support to China in tackling terror
In a brief statement, Tehmina Janjua, Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesperson said, "Pakistan will continue to extend its full cooperation and support to the government of the People's Republic of China against the ETIM."
Responding to a question on the attack at Kashgar city in Xinjiang region, Janjua said "all incidents of terrorism are deplorable".
She said, "Pakistan is fully confident that the patriotic people of Xinjiang autonomous region of... China and, in particular, Kashgar, as well as the Chinese government, will succeed in frustrating evil designs of the terrorists, extremists and separatists, who constitute an evil force."
Earlier on Aug 1, China blamed "extremists" trained in terror camps in Pakistan for orchestrating attacks on civilians in the troubled Xinjiang province, where 20 people, including alleged militants, were killed in violent incidents over two days.
While nine people were killed in a violent attack on Saturday, another 11, including five suspected militants, were killed in another attack on Jul 31.
