Narayana Murthy

Kolkata, Jul 26: It's a mere celebration time for Mamata Banerjee and West Bengal as the state soon will see Infosys chief Narayana Murthy as the chief mentor of the IT panel in the state.

Mamata Banerjee's government has decided to prepare the IT panel to prepare a road-map for the industry and attract more investment in the sector.

While all Bengalis got a chance to rejoice, Narendra Modi government in Gujarat is still awaiting for official nod of the Infosys supremo regarding the offer made by Modi.

Recently, Modi had proposed Murthy to head a world class Incubation Centre for the Youth proposed to come up in Gujarat.

Murthy in reply to Modi's proposal said, "I will be happy to be linked with this ambitious project, but how much time I will be able to devote towards it is to be seen and I shall discuss with the government later on."

Meanwhile, West Bengal's State Industries and IT Minister Partha Chatterjee, while confirming the news on Murthy, said, "We expect that under his mentorship best practices of the industry available in the country and abroad will be followed in the state."

Mr Chatterjee also informed that Murthy would take part in meetings through video and teleconference in case he was unable to attend in person due to his busy schedule.
