Nagpur: 21-year-old rapes married woman at knifepoint
Amol Mendhe, an engineering student had once helped the victim but later started making advances on her which were rejected outright and bluntly by the victim which later lead to her rape.
The accused sneaked into her house, when the victim Meenu's (name changed) husband Kumar, a civil contractor by profession was not at home.
According to the police, Kumar was released from the jail two weeks ago. He was jailed on charges of attacking Mendhe with a sharp object in Apr. Cases of attempt to murder were slapped against Kumar. This was the second time Kumar was a booked for a tiff between both.
According to sources in the police, Meenu had once left the home after a fight with her husband. On her way she met Mendhe and asked him to help her reach Indora, where her parents lived, she later changed her mind and asked the accused to take her to a girls hostel instead.
She later realised her trait of acting stupid and asked her husband to come to take her back home. During the sequence of events, Mendhe started developing an interest in her and also made advances towards her.
After forcing himself upon the victim, Mendhe fled and the victim filed a complaint with the Yashodhara Nagar Police.
According to the accused, he is being framed by the couple in order to take revenge on him for complaining against Kumar. Mendhe will be produced in the court and remain in the police custody till Jul 27.
